When I started Leavingweakness in 2015, I didn’t originally create the site as a money making business that it later became.
I started the site as an online blog to document various things I was doing to improve my life while working a demanding job as the branch manager of a food service company. I originally used it as an online journal to reference for personal accountability.
After making several post, I surprisingly saw a gradual influx of site traffic from people who needed the content I was creating because they too were on journeys of improving their lives. The more I wrote, the more visitors I got.
Then, I found out that I could turn words into money…
I found out that you could make money by referring goods and services by imbedding click links in my articles. So I, signed up for an affiliate program that specialized in supplements and began making commission just by mentioning products I liked in my content.
My whole perspective on what was actually possible completely changed when I got my fist commission check in the mail.
It was only a couple hundred dollars but it planted a seed in my mind about what was actually possible if I treated my blog an actual business and took this thing all the way.
I created more divers content to be more appealing to a wider range of readers. Content ranged from buying my rental properties, product reviews, biohacking, making money, improving life perspective, how to start podcasts…
I was able to leave a career I hated and live off something I love to do.
Three years in I was able to write articles about how I had made enough income from Leavingweakness to leave my miserable career managing that food service company.
What was once a distant dream, was formed into a living reality.
I saw the opportunity in a passionate hobby. Once I made that decision to go all in, I knew it would would work because I made a commitment to myself that I simply would not allow it to fail.
You can create a business based on yourself and your interest. If you do this, then work does not feel like work. And that is complete possible because of the power of the internet.
The internet is where the REAL money is at. Not at the fast food joint that is always hiring for $8 an hour.
Unlike that job, the internet is an unlimited money making potential for entrepreneurs who are willing to play smart and work their asses off.
Go out in public and just take a look around at everyone. They are all addicted to their phones and sucked in to consuming content on the internet.
Even you! What are you doing?
Your reading my bullshit right now. When you should be creating your own bullshit to turn people’s internet addiction into money for your bank account.
I know that there is something that you know a whole lot about or have an obsessive interest in. So start marking content about that. If your interested in it then there many other people out there that are as well, no matter how niche it may seem.
It all starts with the most powerful thing you posses… your mind.
If you use your mind to its full potential, you can kiss the days of manual labor and long days making someone else rich goodby.
Your business starts a idea in your head. Then you bring your business to fruition by framing the steps to bumping it to life.
Then you work like no one else does right now, so you can live how no one else can latter.
What was once a figment of your imagination was spoken into existence through sheer willpower.
Here the thing anyone can do this. Being an internet entrepreneur is actually pretty simple once you learn how to do it. The hard part for most people is being consistent and grinding until you make it succeed. I spent an entire year writing articles before ever trying to make money of my site.
You have to actually BUILD your business from the ground up so there is actually some substantial substance to it. This is why I laugh my ass off every time I see an Instagram profile of some 19 year old with ‘entrepreneur’ listed in his bio but its nothing but pictures of himself trying to convince the world of something hes not.
No substance equals no money.
Even though it’s pretty easy, most give up because it’s not a game of instant success.
The sad reality is that creating and running your own business isn’t for pussies.
It’s for people who are determined to keep grinding until they make it succeed no matter how shitty of a day you’ve had or how tired you are. Because you would rather suffer through hell to make your dreams come true than work a job to make some one rich.
Entrepreneurship is a game of ‘you get what your deserve’. You put in the work and you deserve it all. You give up or half ass it and you don’t deserve a damn thing.
Believe me, I half assed this once before and suffered the consequences. And I learned that business and money are like a woman. If you stop paying attention to them, and they will leave you and go to someone else.
You might be thinking this isn’t a possibility for you. Or that maybe none of you ideas are good enough to talk about. Listen, you just need to get that crap out of your mind.
I can’t spell worth a shit and I made D’s in English/Literature throughout high school. But I write articles on my site for a living and I make more money than most professional writers do.
I write in a way that comes across as if I’m talking directly to people like I’m talking to you right now. People want what’s real because they can see through the fake crap that’s plastered everywhere now.
That’s how you get to the top: seize opportunities, never stop hustling, learn more, and be REAL.
The days of the scam artist dude making videos about his Lamborghini in his garage and selling you on his worthless mentorship programs is done. That scheme preyed on an entire generation of miserable wage-slaves looking for real answers.
Well, I’m here to give you the answers folks and it isn’t some con-artist selling mentor programs on YouTube.
The way to get the answers you need.
You know what you want to do, but you feel like you don’t know how to execute or the necessary steps to take and how to execute it.
Guys, there is literally this thing called Google that has the answers on how to pretty much do anything if you make the effort to do some quick research. Most of everything I learned on investing in rental properties came from either Youtube videos or a podcast. The internet is is an amazing resource if you utilize it for what its original purpose was.
You want to start a podcast? Its pretty east to do now with apps like Anchor that pretty much do everything for you to get it out to the world.
You want to sell you own e-books? Then write one up in a word doc, convert to pdf file, create a cover with Canva, and sell that bitch on E-junkie so you get all the profits.
People make millions from YouTube and TickTok is a powerhouse right now.
And monetizing your work is almost absurdly simple because of online line selling platforms, affiliate programs, and reference landing pages like Linktree that binds all your platforms and endeavors together so people can locate them all.
For god sakes, it takes less than 30 minutes to set up a website now. All you have to do is a little bit of research.
But the truth is, you have the time, skills, and knowledge to get it done.
Showing up every day is the hard part.
Its a constant battle os staying focused and not falling into bad habits that stop the momentum.
Its fighting temptation and against laziness and not saying “I’m gonna take the day off cause I’m burned out an need a break”.
The desire to ‘take a break’ is the ultimate weakness.
It’s brutally hard work and endless dedication. It’s waking up early 2 hours before anyone else to crush your goals without distractions.
It is resisting the easy path of saying, “I don’t really want to work out. I really don’t want to set aside the time to devote on hammering on this project again. I really don’t want to get out of bed now and do this again.”
It is taking the hard path that so few have the testicular fortitude to see through.
But you can do it. I know know you can.
You have to consistently show up and get it done it. Even if your just going through the motions to say, “I showed up today. I didn’t give it 100%. But I gave what I could because this matters enough to me not to let it fail”.
That my friends is truly leaving weakness behind.
